Coral Gables Florida is one of the oldest cities in Miami-Dade County, at least if appearances are anything to go by. Originally a planned community by founder George Merrick, the city has earned the nicknames of “The Gables” and “City Beautiful”, the latter a result of the prevalent classic architecture found throughout the many Coral Gables homes and the strong attention to aesthetic. Today, Coral Gables is one of the wealthiest and most pedestrian friendly cities in the county.
The appeal of Coral Gables real estate has as much to do with the city's ambiance and classic design as its many unique landmarks and communities. The Biltmore Hotel still stands in Coral Gables to this day and has become popular for tourism. University of Miami also has its main campus in the city and is a highly respected private educational institution. In terms of places to live, there are several communities to choose from such as Gables by the Sea, Cocoplum and more.
